Chartered Accountants are a group of accountants that have their accountancy associations in British Commonwealth countries and Ireland. It is basically the equivilant of a public accountant in the United States. The term chartered has come from the Royal Charter that was initially granted to the worlds first professional body of accountants in 1854.

Chartered Accountants work in any field of accounting, and their profession requires them to take continuing professional classes to stay ahead of other accountants. They often lead academic and professional thinking classes in accountancy. They also give support to other members by advising them, and giving them technical support as well. In addition, they often offer opportunities for professional networking and career and business development.

Chartered Accountants who engage in public practice work (for example, selling services to the public rather than acting as an employee) must gain a "practising certificate" by meeting further requirements such as purchasing adequate insurance and undergoing regular inspections.Chartered Accountant Salary
